  In November 2025, the 52nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (JSRM 52) was held in Tokyo, Japan. As one of the influential academic meetings in the field of microsurgery and reconstructive surgery in Asia, the congress was organized by the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Tokyo and brought together more than 700 experts in microsurgery, reconstructive surgery, and robotic surgery from Japan and around the world.Participants exchanged insights into the latest advances in complex tissue reconstruction, supermicrosurgery, robot-assisted microsurgery, and other emerging technologies, as well as their future clinical applications.

  At JSRM 52, KouTech showcased its independently developed Kai Microsurgical Robot, presenting the company’s latest innovations in robot-assisted microsurgery to leading specialists and medical institutions.Featuring a compact robotic platform, precision motion control technologies, and strong adaptability to clinical environments, Kai emerged as one of the innovative technologies attracting significant attention during the congress. Numerous experts and representatives from medical institutions visited the KouTech booth to experience the system and exchange perspectives with the company’s team.

  During the congress, specialists from leading medical institutions, including The Cancer Institute Hospital of JFCR, Keio University, Kyushu University, Kobe University, Hiroshima University, Yokohama City University, Okayama University, Kagoshima University, and Kanto Rosai Hospital, gained hands-on experience with the Kai system.The experts engaged in extensive discussions with the KouTech team on emerging trends in robot-assisted microsurgery, potential applications in complex microsurgical reconstruction, and opportunities for future international collaboration.Several specialists highlighted Kai’s stable and precise motion control, natural and intuitive operation, and user-friendly learning experience. These capabilities are designed to enable surgeons to become familiar with the system efficiently while providing enhanced precision and operational support for complex microsurgical procedures.

  Kai incorporates KouTech’s proprietary high-precision motion control system and miniaturized multi-degree-of-freedom instruments. The system is designed to effectively reduce the impact of physiological hand tremor while maintaining stable and precise manipulation within deep and narrow surgical fields.In addition, its ergonomic design is intended to reduce the physical burden on surgeons during lengthy microsurgical procedures, helping improve comfort and stability throughout complex operations.
